CONCEPT
The ALEA RESORT in Bad Orb is an impressive example of modern architecture and urban design, nestled in the idyllic landscape of the Spessart region. With its cubic structure and clean lines, the building complex not only offers functional spaces, but also an aesthetically pleasing overall appearance that blends harmoniously into the surroundings of Alea Park.
The property is located on a slope and overlooks one of the most beautiful spa gardens in the area. In the late 18th century, salt was extracted from brine in Bad Orb. A graduation tower from that period is a spectacular wooden structure in the immediate vicinity.
The task was challenging. On the one hand, we had to integrate state-of-the-art architecture into an established location. Local residents had to understand the building and not see it as a foreign body. The history of the location also had to be taken into account. The project’s high-quality façade is a particular eye-catcher.
The ALEA RESORT Hideaway is a state-of-the-art architectural structure whose façade has been clad with high-tech smooth aluminum panels and local gray shell limestone. The overall project consists of a boarding house and three so-called cubes arranged in front of it, each with a specific function.
The upper floor was designed with gabled roofs in keeping with the neighborhood. The modern twist and reference to history are created by the asymmetrical shape of the roofs and the cladding of the balconies with white aluminum sheets (facade and roof sheets, monitor cladding, privacy slats, pool cladding, soffits, balcony cladding, etc.). However, their shape is not only reminiscent of the roofs of the neighboring buildings, but also directly references the history of salt mining in this location, namely the shape of salt crystals.
The multi-layered surface and diverse coloration of the gray shell limestone, with its tones ranging from gray to ocher, create a minimalist yet warm impression. In combination with the white, powder-coated sheet metal areas and the aluminum sheet metal cladding on the roof, the result is a harmonious overall appearance, whose proportions are balanced and well thought out, both on the lower side of the building facing the street and on the higher side facing the park.
The Ebener aluminum facades are made of high-quality material, which not only impresses with its durability and weather resistance, but also with its modern, elegant appearance. They give the building a timeless look and underline the commitment to quality and sustainability that characterizes the entire project.
